York Light Orchestra is a local amateur orchestra of approximately 40 talented amateur musicians who meet on a weekly basis in Acomb in York. We perform a wide range of music to appeal to both players and audiences.

We are currently recruiting new players to York Light Orchestra - especially strings and brass
We welcome new players of all ages who are willing to attend on a regular basis and commit to playing at concerts appropximately 4 times a year. The music we play is around grade 4+ standard but we don't mind if you are rusty.
Our rehearsals are on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm in Acomb Methodist Church, Front St, Acomb, York YO24 3BX. Our season runs from early September to late July. Rehearsals are open to the public and to potential new members. There are no auditions. So do pay us a visit.
